Floyd Hall is an accomplished arts and non-profit leader with a proven record of advancing cultural organizations through strategic fundraising, innovative programming, community-centered engagement, and turnaround management. With a background in mathematics and engineering, Hall brings a unique interdisciplinary perspective to his work, blending analytical thinking with creative expression.

Hall is currently developing a pilot arts initiative based in Metro Atlanta that reimagines the traditional museum concept as a distributed, neighborhood-embedded cultural system rather than a single centralized destination.

He has served as Executive Director of Atlanta Contemporary, where he was responsible for the guiding the institution’s artistic vision and museum operations, expanding educational and public programming, and stabilizing its financial capacity. Before his tenure at Atlanta Contemporary, Hall led Emory University’s Science Gallery Atlanta, where he curated large-scale exhibitions that merged art, science, design, and technology, with an emphasis on engaging students and researchers.

In addition to his curatorial work, Hall is a co-founder of Canopy Atlanta, a journalism nonprofit that amplifies the voices of local communities through media platforms. His writing has been featured in Atlanta Magazine, ArtsATL, and Art Papers, and he has produced over 800 podcast episodes covering various topics, including art, pop culture, fashion, sports, music, and technology.

Hall holds a B.S. in Mathematics from Morehouse College, a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Columbia University. His academic background, combined with his diverse professional experiences, informs his interdisciplinary approach to institutional stewardship, cultural production, and community engagement.

Atlanta Way 2.0 is a nonprofit organization dedicated to community empowerment through collaborative action, social enrichment through authentic connections, and civic uplift through collective will. Rooted in the belief that a common spirit of purpose is alive in Atlanta, we work to strengthen the region’s civic fabric by convening partners, elevating community voices, and shining light on the people and organizations driving progress—together. Our goal is to build visibility, connection, and community-led momentum across sectors, and our purpose is to advance Atlanta through shared agency and collective impact.

As Atlanta approaches the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Atlanta Way 2.0 is excited to support community storyteller Floyd Hall on an in-depth journalism and narrative series that examines development, investment, displacement, and opportunity in and around downtown. Through this work, we aim to ensure that the stories shaping Atlanta’s future reflect the lived experiences, aspirations, and agency of the communities who call this city home.
